Dear Portland BEC Members,
Hello all! We are pleased to welcome members back for the Portland Building Enclosure Council’s monthly meeting series, kicking off on September 1st!
For new members—and those who may not be familiar with our schedule—the Portland BEC generally follows the academic year, with meetings held from September through June. We hope to see you all in-person at our meetings this year! Attendance has been growing and we would love to continue building our in-person audience. Gathering in person creates opportunities for conversation, engagement with our speakers, and connection with fellow members. It also helps us recognize and support our sponsors, whose generosity provides lunches for in-person attendees. We will continue to offer hybrid meetings for our members who are outside the area or are unable to travel to the meeting location but would love to have more of you attend in person.
We are building an excellent lineup of presentations for the coming year, featuring a mix of local, regional, and national speakers who will bring a range of expertise and perspectives to our members.
For nearly two decades, the Portland BEC has operated as a nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Your membership dues support our operational expenses, including leasing our venue, insurance, and costs associated with bringing in out-of-state speakers. Please take the time to renew your membership dues which, notably, have remained static for many, many years. We are very thankful for your continued support and participation and trust that you see the value that your membership and participation offers.
As always, we welcome members who are interested in serving on our Education Committee and helping shape future topics and presentations. If you would like to learn more, please speak with a Board or Education Committee member at any one of our monthly meetings. Several of us are typically in attendance, so please introduce yourself. We would love to get to know you.
If you have questions, suggestions, or an interest in becoming more involved, please do not hesitate to reach out. On behalf of the Board and Education Committee, we look forward to seeing you throughout the coming year.
